Acute Conditions are those illnesses or injuries that happen suddenly and only last for a short amount of time. Examples of Acute Conditions include strains, colds, flu, infections, rashes and burns.

WHAT ARE THE SYMPTOMS?

Acute Conditions have symptoms that occur almost immediately after an incident or exposure, such as an injury or most infections.

HOW ARE THEY DIAGNOSED?

Acute Conditions present themselves soon after they occur, and the symptoms usually are apparent and resolve with treatment.

WHAT ARE THE TREATMENT OPTIONS?

In general, Acute Conditions can be treated by your Esse Health doctor in the office. There is a period of illness, the illness or injury is treated and then recovery follows.
