Prior to joining Esse Health, Dr. Hammond practiced Internal Medicine at Kirkwood Primary Care for three years. Previously, he worked in the Emergency Room and was Medical Director of an Urgent Care Clinic for two years. His special interests include sports medicine and travel medicine.

Dr. Hammond has been awarded Recognition by the National Committee for Quality and Assurance (NCQA) and the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association for patient care in heart disease and/or stroke. NCQA, in partnership with the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, developed the Heart/Stroke Recognition Program to recognize clinicians who have met standards demonstrating delivery of high quality care to patients with cardiovascular disease and/or stroke.
